U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson made a surprise Cameo appearance on Broadway,
performing on stage and offering lines in her role as Queen Mab in the play “& Juliet.”
Written by playwright David West Read, “& Juliet” is a modern retelling of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” but does it with a twist:
In this play, Juliet opts to not commit suicide and instead explores life as an independent young woman looking to do her own thing in life.
Justice Brown-Jackson is the first sitting Supreme Court Justice to perform on Broadway.
She is also the first Black woman to serve on the nation’s highest court.
